The
Artist
I live and work at Rowland, near Bakewell in the Peak District National
Park, England.
Although
mosaics are an ancient art form I like to experiment with more contemporary
styles and materials. I very much like to vary my work and so welcome
commissions which may take me in directions I would not have naturally
chosen.
My
inspiration comes both from my surroundings – particularly the
animals in my rural neighbourhood, and from the materials I use –
stained glass with its vibrancy & stunning colours, ceramics with
their variety of tones & textures, and slate & rusted metal
to bring even more subtle textures.
2003
- I started working in mosaics.
2004 - I set up my studio at home.
